You can discuss the movies or trailers or headcanons here, but you can also use this as a writing post: talk about fic ideas you've had (whether they're based on kinkmeme prompts or not), brainstorm with others, bounce ideas off someone, or post snippets you've written to get some feedback. Or even just some cheerleading and support while you write. You can also use this post to find a beta.

I hear you completely on that. Plus who doesn't love shipping Bruce with Dick Grayson? I ship Grayson with evvvvvvverybody, as comics intended (or maybe they didn't, and it's just the best accident in history that's kept happening for 70+ years).

I do remember the wank in the older fandoms I was happy to be a part of in the early 2000s (Highlander and due South wank was so different, and in their own ways, the. worst. But I take your point entirely. The drama and shit-stirring that happens on tumblr is exhausting when it happens. Whatever happened to everyone playing in their own corners? Wait, I just remembered due South drama. Sigh.)

Dangit, I'd almost happily forgotten how weird tumblr could be about robin ships. Ah well xD

ayrt Sorry for reminding you, anon. I'm still new to the DC fandom and so the shock of "wow, some of those people who post nice comics stuff are serious shit-stirrers" is still fresh. ;)

And I think all fandoms have wank (I'm an ASOIAF anon, I've seen so many ship wars ;)), but I think the wanks that bring in moral superiority are the worst ones.

But hey, you know which fandom doesn't have wank? BvS fandom. :DDD

It is shocking, and I just want to hug everyone and have everyone playing nicely in their sandbox. Because the dceu seems to be playing VERY nicely in its sandbox. One of the bonsuses of being a small-ish-er fandom, amirite? 8D

Oh god, fanwank superiority. You're right. It makes it so much worse when the wankers believe they have a morally superior argument for why what you love is Wrong. I've had pretty much all of it I can stand from SPN. In that fandom, you have your choice of ships: blasphemy of a pretty high order (if one's religious), RPF, or incest? In the weird twilight zone that is SPN, there we get on our high-horse for top/bottom ship wars. *quietly rolls eyes at fandom*

*pulls BvS fandom in for a hug instead*

ayrt Yeah, like, fanwank is bad enough when it's just "my ship is so much more awesome than yours", but when it turns into "my ship is morally pure and your ship is EVAHL", it's really no fun anymore.
In the ASOIAF fandom you also have various "problematic" ships and people are STILL trying to pretend that their ships are somehow so much better than someone else's. There is nothing like watching a bunch of people run in circles arguing why THEIR ship with the 30 year age difference is morally superior to that other icky ship with the gross 30 year age difference.

But yeah, let's just hug the BvS fandom instead, at least we're not assholes. :D

I hear you. I'm in a corner of Marvel fandom where the shipping-as-moral-superiority thing is rife, and it's awful.

Oh god, don't get me started anon. The "my ship is more morally superior than yours!" is terrible. It leads to poor users getting dragged for 1,000+ reblogs just because they ship a couple that's not PC enough for tumblr's tastes. It's absolute lunacy and also terrifying to witness.
