OH NO, IT'S THE LAST PART, I ALREADY MISS THIS FIC! But part of me is glad that we're not getting the 150k version in which Clark is furious at Bruce for ages and they're icy bitter exes until they make up again (although I totally would have read that, too), because HAPPY ENDING AND HAPPINESS! :DDD

But he's never been a particularly strong man. Not in the ways that matter.
Here we go for a last "oh, Bruce". It just kills me, Bruce becoming completely undone by Clark's gentleness. The desperation and his fear that Clark will change his mind, aaaaaah. <3

"But I think we can wait on trying out make-up sex until nobody has any broken bones. Just—talk to me. Please. Just talk to me."
Make-up sex with broken bones would be easier. But Bruce doesn't tell him that.
Ah, I was wrong, another "oh, Bruce". ;D Also, unf, that make-up sex after Bruce got better must be HOT. :D I really love how hard Clark is trying to go about this in ways that will work for Bruce, like not actually making him talk all that much, but guessing and letting Bruce say yes or no. It's so satisfying after all this to see Clark figuring Bruce out and learning how to speak Bat. ;D

Claaaaaaaaaark, oh my god, Clark, you sweetheart. And it kills me that Bruce just can't stop thinking of himself that way. AND OF COURSE HE STAYED WITH BRUCE WHILE BRUCE WAS SLEEPING, EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEH. After all those times Bruce refused to sleep in one bed with him.

Bruce killed him and fucked him and lied to him, and he's come back every time, he's come back and he's stayed. And if all that isn't enough to keep him away—
Bruce just looks at him, for a long time; looks at him and feels the want build up, that deep slow tide Bruce keeps finding himself so helpless against. And then he lets himself reach out—lets himself slide his hand into Clark's where it lies on the pillow.
My heaaaaaaaaaart. I'm so happy and grinning like an idiot. And oooooooh, that ending is so good, considering that all of this was so full of identity porn and lies about who Bruce is. <3

I cannot thank you enough for filling my little prompt so wonderfully, dear braintwin author! Not in a million years had I hoped for something so epic and amazing and detailed when I posted that prompt. You are absolutely incredible and too kind and too generous and I loved every instalment of this fic. I'm going to miss it a lot, but I'm looking forward to whatever else you're going to write next. You said something about forced soulbonding, right? Not that that's my prompt, too. O:-) But right, exchange assignments come first, obviously. No, but in all seriousness, this was incredible, thank you so, so much. <3

/o\ :D I mean, let's face it, that version would also have had a happy ending! But I'm glad you're satisfied with this happy ending despite the (RELATIVE) shortness of the journey. ;)

:DDDDDDDDDDDD What can I say - I'm so enamored of how well-prepared and braced Bruce is for bad things/pain/discomfort suddenly not helping him AT ALL in the face of Clark's ... being Clark at him, you know? *flails* Clark being considerate when Bruce least expects it, and trying to make things easier for him even when he maybe doesn't deserve it (and certainly doesn't FEEL like he does) just slays me. AND LOOK, YOU LIKE IT TOO. WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT. ;D \o/

/o\ I mean, gosh, I used up all my words yesterday - I'm just so so glad you liked this whole ending, OP because if you hadn't that would have been a HUGE DISASTER D:! This got SO LONG and after dragging you through all that extra verbiage, if I had ruined it at the end, I mean, WORST NIGHTMARE. WORST.

It was a great prompt and I loved writing for it so, so much, braintwin OP! As ... you perhaps guessed, around the fifteenth part or so. ;) This was such a great excuse to basically throw all my feelings about Bruce's post-BvS guilt and Clark's post-BvS recovery at the wall, and it ALL STUCK and you just rolled with it, and I'm so so grateful! STOP THANKING ME I AM TRYING TO THANK YOU :P :D Next is definitely exchange assignment, oops, and also I may have promised some people Bruce!POV fake dating somewhere along the line BUT SOULBONDING IS TOTALLY NEXT ON THE LIST AFTER THAT BECAUSE YES :DDDDDDDDDDDD. You are so welcome, I can't even convey the degree to which you are welcome - you made this such a blast to write, as you always do. ♥ ♥ ♥
