That seems to be the way of things, doesn't it? If the invading aliens don't get you, then the desperate mugger does. Dramatic license or irony or something.

Through the ringing in his ears, Clark hears the muffled sound of punches, and then a cry of pain, followed by an animal roar of fury.

Whoooo, given this is the universe with more violent Batman I guess those dudes are sort of lucky that Bruce focused on getting Clark out of there after knocking them out. And I imagine the guy who was about to slit Clark's throat got the shit kicked out of him a bit more.

I really continue to enjoy the little details Clark observes about "being human" in terms of all the new sensations with the tingling numbness or smelling his own blood. Or what Bruce's palm feels like.

And awww, more of Bruce patching up Clark and being worried but masking that with frustration. It's all rather lovely.

Exactly -- I mean, Clark almost expects aliens, he's used to that. Dudes after money? That's something new XD

I'm SO glad you're still enjoying it after it grew legs and just got bigger and bigger and longer and longer -- and ahaha, I will never not love Bruce patching Clark up XD
