Pretty sure that’s just his face. :-P

Martha Kent for the win! I had briefly wondered about her earlier and then was sidetracked with delectably unresolved sexual tension.

Not that it’s a bet anyone would take, but I’d put my money on Martha.

Details and lying to themselves aside, she’ll have figured out what’s what long before these boys get their sh** together. :-P

And I cannot picture a conversation between Bruce and Martha that isn’t entirely honest, in which Bruce will probably figuratively fall on his sword and tell her everything that he cannot admit to himself, despite Alfred’s knowing looks.

…I'm actively preventing him from finding someone else who could be by making him look taken?

And so it really begins. Not only is poor Clark starting to realize that he’s falling, for an act (he thinks) no less, but now he thinks he is an obstacle to Bruce’s own happiness. Poor baby. You’re not going easy on him. I approve!

And Superman possibly is more of a coward than people give him credit for…

I laughed at this! Martha really is Clark’s Achilles’ heel in more ways than one!

Yeah, I prrrrrobably should have brought her up earlier, but then again this is all Clark's POV and the point is that he forgot to say anything, so. :D

:D You're not wrong, anon - the dinner's not quite this, because after all Clark is still there, but I'm a big fan of Martha as sort of Bruce's kryptonite, which I hope very much will show.

Haha, I'm glad to hear it - there's a fair bit of Clark angst ahead of us, though I'll do my best to make sure it's not too OTT.
