Re: FILL: tell all the truth (but tell it slant); Bruce/Clark, fake dating (19/19)

:DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

Oh, anon, thank you so much - they really did need to have just one genuinely meaningful conversation to get to the heart of things (not that they don't have a little more talking through all of this in their future, I'm sure, but I tried to unravel the worst of the knot!).

:D Despite all the stuff that happened in the middle that I super had not planned on, I had the ending of this in mind from the beginning: I REALLY wanted the bookend of Clark managing to use the media to help him sort things out, after the media caused the fundamental misunderstanding to start with. So I'm THRILLED BEYOND ALL WORDS that you liked how it worked out! \o/

Bruce is such a restrained mess that this is SUCH a big deal

/o\ :D That is basically the sentiment behind at least 90% of my Bruce feelings, anon - I LOVE how much every tiny thing can mean when he's covering up so much stuff! OH BRUCE. And lbr, he is absolutely going to make additional BAD DECISIONS after this. (But I think that being armed with "You actually do love me and I know it" is going to make it much easier for Clark to weather them.)

Now excuse me while I daydream about the scene following this one with Clark riding Bruce in his office chair, Bruce heaving him onto the desk at some point before they end up in a heap on the floor

... *fans self* You are so right, they absolutely do bang on Bruce's desk - and the receptionist totally waved Clark up and then began holding all Bruce's calls/clearing Bruce's schedule for the rest of the day, because he knows what's up. *nods*
