Yesss, denial, especially on Alfred's side. Because there's no way that she'd think much of any of those little touches, right? No way they'd mean anything to her, no way they'd make her feel a bit dizzy for a second. Except then she meets his eyes and smiles that knowing, gentle smile, but that just makes Alfred feel like she knows what he's thinking, not like she's thinking the same thing.
I AM SO GLAD I CAN YELL AT YOU ABOUT MY ALFRED/DIANA FEELINGS BECAUSE I'M NOT SURE WHAT ELSE TO DO WITH THEM? Gentle, not quite platonic touching becoming increasingly not platonic would be their THING. Oh, and there should be things like her adjusting his tie even though it doesn't need adjusting. Or her asking him to close her necklace for her (even though they both know that WONDER WOMAN is quite capable of reaching back to close her own necklace). And his fingertips brush over the back of her neck, over the soft hair at the nape, lingering for just half a second longer than was entirely necessary, but not long enough to make it seem like he's taking advantage of the situation.
Well, there's a 90% chance in all conversations that I will mention Justified. ;) But yes, I'm fairly sure that was me. Western AUs or rather Westerns with the Justified cast and Timothy Olyphant as the bad guy? I remember that. Are you saying we've already talked to each other months ago without even knowing it?
