Oh yeah, the moody/goofy combination is great. But there is indeed that added ingredient X, because I've only had three ships I've cared about, and the grim/funloving contrast is so prevalent in the wider world of fandom.

When I tried to introduce my friends to superbat, the very first comment I got from them was, "isn't Bruce Wayne problematic?" I think I stared at them uncomprehendingly for at least a minute. Not that I'd never heard that accusation leveled at him, but because I couldn't believe my fandom friend could be that vague. I was like, "could you be more specific? There's a lot of shit that Bruce Wayne does that's kinda hinky. That's why it's fun." Oh well. xD

(My dash, and my irl fandom friends continue their campaign to get me onboard the great beast that is the MCU fandom. I dipped a toe in, decided to give it a pass. Oh well. I am perfectly content here in superbat. <333)

Aye, that's about when I abandoned the game too. When Garrosh took over for Thrall right before-ish/during Cataclysm, I noped out. It was a good exit point, 'cause I just couldn't play the game without spending all of my free time on it. But to this day, I am happy that Garrosh got deposed as Warchief. Hated him so much during WotLK.

Seriously tho, that game is amazing. Probably the best and funnest experience I had as a gamer. And just gorgeous too. <3

Are you thinking of returning? I know I have to resist, if I'm ever going to get any art made/fic written. The lure is just too strong otherwise.
