Slade's hired to do a job in a dangerous war zone. Robin hears news of Slade leaving Jump and decides to follow him to find out what he's up to. No matter how good of a hero he is, Robin's still just a kid and he's in way over his head (even if he doesn't think so). Slade feels a bit protective in a paternal sort of way towards Robin and even he doesn't want the kid getting tortured or killed. Not having time to waste being bodyguards for birds, Slade decides to call the one person he knows that has the money and ability to haul Robin back to safety: Oliver.

P.S, Slade doesn't need to be a super nice guy. After all, even when he likes someone in any of the universes, he always ends up having a twisted way of showing it. He just needs to see that Robin's too young to be in a war zone and decide to do something about it.

PPS. Please no Sladin or Oliver/Robin. Slade/Oliver's fine, but not necessary.
