A/A: Just a quick and dirty fill; hasn't been edited. I hope someone gives you a proper fill, though!
*
Clark has always known that Batman could be cruel. He just never thought that Bruce could be, too.
("I can't do this anymore," Clark says, watching Bruce carefully. He wants to hope.
Bruce only glares a little as he puts his shirt back on, says: "Could have given me a little warning."
And then he's gone and Clark feels only cold.)
*
Bruce keeps his breathing even until sensors show that Clark is out of Gotham - only then does he put his head in his hands and screams.
("I can't do this anymore," Clark says and Bruce refuses to his body react.
Reacting gets you killed, he thinks to himself. Reacting gets you killed, reacting gets you--
Out loud he says: "Could have given me a little warning." And he glares and he can physically see the way Clark breaks. Clark was so powerful in so many ways - but Bruce sees his cracks, can't help but press on them as he himself self-destructs.
He puts his shirt back on and leaves the room - knowing that Clark wouldn't stay. No one ever does.)
