yes yes yes you had me at "Clark is madly, deeply in love with Bruce". this prompt has so much potential for angst and i hope it gets filled! also, there's a fic called Smothered Desires by Avaya on ao3 that sort of fits the misunderstanding part of the prompt. just thought i'd mention it since i really enjoyed it + i was reminded of it while reading this prompt :)
