Re: FILL: as to which may be the true; Bruce/Clark, identity porn (17/?)

Ha, this time I'm around right away for the update! :D MORE BATMAN, FUCK YEAH!

But first, more Diana! I love that they talk a bit more about fear because fear is just so, so central to who Bruce/Batman is, and Clark doesn't know that yet.

With the lasso across her palm, she holds out her hand; and after a second Clark takes it. It's Diana. There's nothing to worry about.
Awww, he trusts her so quickly. <3 Such a nice contrast to how messed up things are with Batman.

"He doesn't trust me. He shouldn't. I was doing the wrong thing and I knew it, and I did it anyway."
I really love how conscious Clark is of his powers and his strength, and how guilty he feels for using them even in a situation where he was clearly the wronged party. It's also really nice to see Clark work through his issues in a fairly mature way, compared to the mess that is Bruce's mind and his Issues.

Loved that bit about Clark passing the penthouse and thinking about Bruce and wondering where he is, if he's avoiding him ...

He's hoping Batman will mind a little less if Clark Kent comes to Gotham instead.
I don't know about Batman, but I am just here for BATMAN AND CLARK KENT MEETING IN GOTHAM ALLEYS AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH. I have a thing for that, okay. ;) And of course he gets mugged. I love how hilariously taken aback Clark is by this whole development because things like that probably don't happen much in Smallville (or even Metropolis).

Batman drops onto the sidewalk ahead of them in a rush of air and shadows, and the loudest thing about it is the swish of his cape—does he practice that? Does he go home and keep the boots on and just jump off of stuff over and over, until he can land quietly enough to meet his own standards?
I am 100% sure he does. Or at least used to until he had perfected his cape-swishy quiet landing. ;D

Clark can hear the irritated huff of breath
<3333 Also DID CLARK JUST VOLUNTARILY GIVE MONEY TO THE MUGGER??? CLAAAAAAAAAAAARK. Officially the cutest guy ever.

He sounds steady, confident, which is fascinating considering he's also incredibly wrong.
I think that happens a lot with Bruce. :D AND JUST THEIR WHOLE CONVERSATION IS FINALLY HAPPENING THIS IS ALL I EVER WANTED. And don't get me wrong, I absolutely did not mind that it took a while to get here because I enjoyed everything so far, I'm just so happy to have them talking. <3333 And Bruce actually saying and admitting things.

"You don't know what you're talking about," Batman says, but for once it comes out sounding almost gentle.
MY HEART. AND THEN THIS: After a minute or two, he does say, very quietly, "Think what you want. I'll—try to make sure you don't suffer for it."

NONNY!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! SKGDFFGKJDFBGLKDFBGD BATMAN AND CLARK AND BATMAN AND TALKING AND SUCH A GOOD TALK AND IT'S PERFECT. :DDDDDD /overexcited OP
