First off: "a growl, bad judgment, and a lot of black Kevlar" is hands-down my favorite description of Batman.
With that out of the way, I'd like to say GODDAMN, this fic is kicking my ass, emotionally speaking. I'm new to the meme and boggled by the quality of a lot of the fic here, and this fic in particular has me checking back excitedly every couple of days. The self-deception! The interpersonal deception! Using lies to unwittingly tell fundamental truths! The gut-clenching earnestness behind all that! Man. I'm loving everything about this. I love that I don't know quite where it's going (or at least not how it's going to get there), but I fully trust that it'll be awesome and I'll have a lot more wrenching emotions before the end.
If I'm right about the authorship of this fill, you also wrote the fic that got me to ship Bruce/Clark in the first place (which I haven't yet reviewed on AO3, because I'm a chump). Either way, hats off to you, my dude. You're a true hero.
