I've re-read it at least three times now... your Clark and Bruce are so evocatively drawn. They have a true-to-their-characters connection, and at no point does anyone feel like they're being obtuse (when they clearly are, and that is a wonderful skill that takes a deftness of writing, and a commitment to creating characters that clearly have a world of problems outside of each other.
